Exceptional opportunity to join the global Commercial Litigation & International Arbitration practice of one of the world's leading law firms with the role being based in Edinburgh. The firm are looking to hire an additional lawyer with circa 2-5 years PQE.
ROLE PROFILE:
You will be involved with an unrivalled variety of complex, strategically important and high value disputes work, often involving multiple parties across a variety of jurisdictions, as well as some more domestically focused work. The firm will provide you with the widest possible platform to progress your career within a highly supportive and high-performing team, which is perfectly positioned to address myriad commercial litigation and arbitration matters through expert collaboration on a national and an international basis.
The role will primarily focus on involvement in high value and complex litigation disputes. Acting for a diverse client and sector base, the successful candidate will gain direct experience in all aspects of disputes avoidance, management and resolution of high quality highly complex disputes. Key areas of responsibility will include:
Advising on all aspects of disputes avoidance, management and resolution of high quality highly complex disputes across a range of sectors.
Management of disputes and preparation of strategies for dealing with claims be they by international arbitration, litigation, adjudication, expert determination or mediation.
Drafting, reviewing and amending a range of dispute related documents (ranging from pleadings to pre action letters).
Strategically advising clients and managing client expectations and project delivery appropriately.
Liaising and taking instruction from clients.
Attending client meetings.
Business development - development of a personal plan, assistance with and implementation of business development campaign.
Legal research.
