One of the UK's leading interational law firms is looking to hire an experienced Construction lawyer to join their transactional construction team in either Glasgow or Edinburgh to work on a variety of construction matters (which includes construction and projects).

Role Profile:

  • Suitable candidates will have strong academics and will have ideally 2-5 years PQE in construction law undertaken at a leading practice recognised for construction or Real Estate work. Candidates will therefore have a good grounding in non-contentious construction law which should include building work, preferably with process plant, energy and utility and/or infrastructure experience.
  • We would however consider applications from exceptional candidates who have gained at least six months construction experience during their training contract or post qualification at a leading practice recognised for construction or Real Estate work for this role.
  • This is a high performing, cohesive and busy team with a strong reputation for providing associates with early levels of responsibility within a supportive and stretching environment and therefore you can expect to take a leading role on some matters. Candidate Requirements:

  • Ideally 2-5 years PQE in construction law, ideally set in construction or projects and gained within a comparable environment and at an appropriate level.
  • Experience of drafting a variety of construction documents and experience of JCT contracts (or other standard forms such as NEC3) as a minimum
  • The ability to actively support complex transactions, liaising and coordinating with fee earners from other relevant disciplines as needed.
  • The ability to contribute to the general upkeep of the group (whether that be to training, precedents, or know-how generally.
