Excellent new role for a junior contentious construction lawyer to join one of the market leading teams in construction within a leading top-tier law firm, based in their offices in Edinburgh. The firm are interested in speaking with candidates at circa NQ-2 years' PQE level. 

Role Profile:

  •  ​You will advise across a broad range of areas including: infrastructure, civil engineering, utilities, waste-water, transport, energy, renewables, flood prevention schemes, commercial, domestic, PFI/PPP, and professional negligence.
  • Advising contractors and employers on issues relating to construction and engineering contracts, including disputes about variations to contract works, termination, notices, payment provisions, extensions of time, additional costs, breach of contract claims and professional negligence.
  • Advising contractors and employers in construction disputes in both the Court of Session and Sheriff Court, carrying out case investigation and preparation, drafting written pleadings, advising on and negotiating settlements and appearing in court.
  •  Advising and representing both employers and contractors in Adjudications, Mediations and Arbitrations. 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Ideally, you will have gained experience in contentious construction however general disputes/ commercial litigation lawyers with an interest in specialising in contentious construction are also encouraged to apply. 
  • Strong analytical and drafting skills.
  • Communication skills.
