Leading international law firm are looking to hire a Risk Lawyer with circa 1-3 years PQE, to be based in Glasgow.

The Risk & Compliance Team is responsible for ensuring compliance with the firm's professional and regulatory obligations, managing the firm's risk, claims and complaints.

Role Profile:

The role of the risk lawyer will be to work with the senior contracts lawyer, drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on a wide range of engagement terms with clients, including JV arrangements and consortia arrangements with other service professionals.
Primary responsibilities will include assisting with drafting and reviewing a wide variety of engagement terms and reviewing outside counsel guidelines and drafting appropriate engagement terms for our non-legal business entities.
Working with senior lawyer and reporting to the firm's International Conflicts Counsel.
You will also assist in maintaining our suite of proforma engagement documentation and draft new precedents eg non-reliance letters and new engagement documentation for new offices.
You will work with the Head of Quality & Audit to assist with risk training to junior lawyers and trainees and take ownership of other risk streams such as insider lists.

Candidate Requirements:

The successful candidate will:

Have gained experience in a general commercial or corporate environment, either in-house or private practice.
Have experience of contract drafting and amending and ability to apply skills to a wide range of commercial contracts for services and equipment, together with a strong appreciation of the key legal issues relevant to the firm's procurement activities.
Be a team player, able to forge strong working relationships with colleagues in an agile environment.
Be technically strong and exercise good commercial judgment.
