Excellent new role in the specialist banking team of a leading, top-tier international law firm- this role can be based in Edinburgh, Glasgow or London. The role is a senior position in the Advanced Delivery Team (ADT), a multi-disciplinary team that includes lawyers, paralegals, project managers and technologists who combine to deliver innovative solutions for clients.

 

The ADT is a newly created team within the Finance & Projects Group whose aims are to:

  • Design, implement and sell new solutions and services that are innovative in their use of people and technology, and which generate profitable revenue;
  • Be champions for change, promoting innovation and challenging the status quo, particularly through thought leadership and communication of its work and the achievements;
  • Support colleagues to help them engage with clients to develop and deliver innovative solutions.

Role Profile:

The firm are seeking a Senior Banking Lawyer to work as part of the ADT to sell and deliver technology-led services to our financial services clients, including banks, insurers, funds and asset managers. Specifically, you will:
  • Apply practical and technical knowledge of the sector to the creation, development and delivery of technology-led services for FS clients, whether leading on the design of new products or collaborating with colleagues to do so.
  • Support bids, scoping, setup and management of technology-led services for FS clients. 
  • As a senior member of the team, play a part in delivering the overall objectives of the ADT.

This is an exciting new role which offers the successful candidate the opportunity to develop new skills in a cutting edge area of legal services. The ADT has been created to capitalise on and further industrialise our innovation and technology-led services capability and has strong support from Group and Sector management. Additionally, you will be required to support the development of the technology-led business by:  

  • Applying practical and technical legal knowledge of the FS sector to create, develop and implement technology-led solutions for FS clients.  
  • Identifying new opportunities for technology solutions and evaluating opportunities with the central technology team and, where relevant, with client relationship teams and sector teams.
  • Participating in pitches, bids and presentations on technology-led services, for the F&P Group and FS Sectors.

You will also operate as a senior member of the ADT in its delivery of the technology-led instructions by: 

  • Bidding for, pricing and scoping technology-led solutions, with appropriate partner and BD support, for our bank clients (expanding to other clients in the FS Sector).
  • Liaising with central technology team throughout transactions.
  • Understanding client requirements throughout transactions, from scoping to reporting.  

To operate as a senior member of the ADT to expand the range and type clients to whom we offer technology-led services by:  

  • Supporting the development of client relationships relating to technology-led services.  This will involve supporting client relationship teams and sector teams as well as direct interaction with existing clients.
  • Developing resources and materials to support the growth of technology-led services for F&P and FS clients, including working with the BD team.

This role will require frequent travel to London (if based outside the London office) and Glasgow (if based outside the Glasgow office).
