VP Cash Management Lawyer - Manchester

Excellent opportunity for an in-house banking lawyer to join a global financial institution to act as VP Cash Management Lawyer- this role will be based in Manchester, with hybrid- working available. 

Role Profile:

The Cash Management Legal team is responsible for all legal advice relating to the cash management business within Corporate Banking.

The team supports a range of activities including implementing product development, regulatory change and supporting cash management transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support for the development and delivery of cash management services
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements including cash management agreements, service contracts, and related documentation.
  • Advise on legal and regulatory risks associated with cash management operations across jurisdictions.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (product, risk, and compliance) to enable product innovation while ensuring legal compliance.

Candidate Requirements:

  • You will have a strong knowledge of payment laws and payment systems and will partner with product, compliance, risk, and operations teams to deliver legally sound, compliant, and commercially practical solutions.
  • UK Qualified Lawyer or equivalent.
  • Cash Management/Payments experience (Treasury services, payments law, or transactional banking).
  • Financial Services background - either private practice or in-house.
  • In-depth understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage high volume of work.
  • Team player mindset to seamlessly fit into a collaborative team.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Pro-active and open-minded approach.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
